The couple married two and half years ago. It was during their honeymoon that their lives took a new direction. Her husband received an email offering him a position as a physicist at Stanford University. So they moved to the Bay Area, settling in San Francisco. They both paint and sketch, so they’re savoring the art and music scenes here. She’s currently working as a barista by day, but did have an opportunity, in a limited assignment, to put her university degrees to good use, working in Washington, D.C., for an organization that encourages women to use their peace-making skills, particularly in countries with religious conflicts. “I was able to apply what I had learned in a modern context,” she says, “using it for something that can actually have an impact.”.

This year’s festival is, among other things, a marvelous celebration of women in music, Outside Lands had never had a female artist or female-led act headline the main stage before, but there are ballet flats toms two in 2018 — Florence + the Machine and Janet Jackson, scheduled for Days Two and Three respectively, Also, all three of the 2018 headliners on the comedy stage — yes, there’s a comedy stage at Outside Lands — are female as well, Those top acts are “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and “Game Night” star Chelsea Peretti, “2 Dope Queens” star Phoebe Robinson and Michelle Wolf, the outspoken comedian who tore up the National White House Correspondents’ Dinner earlier this year and makes new headlines seemingly every day with her takes on Donald J, Trump, race, abortion and other hot-button issues..
Griffin, who had known Almena since 2010, became estranged when their personalities clashed and called him “narcissistic.”. “He told me he was going to build the (front) stairs out of old palettes. I told him that was crazy,” Griffin said. He wasn’t the only one during Monday’s testimony to call the place a “death trap.” A man who was hired by Almena to do electrical work, Robert “Jake” Jacobitz also referred to it as that. “It was a fire hazard,” he said when referring to some electric problems. He testified the warehouse got its electricity from the auto body shop next door, where he saw illegal electrical work, and no grounding.
